Kamari
I am going to tell you some facts that I know about elephants. My paper is going to be about endangered elephants, why they are endangered and ways to help them. If you would like to help endangered elephants all you have to do is read this paper and find out. I know that elephants are mammals and that they are warm-blooded. If two male elephants start a fight, they use their trunks to fight.
The most important thing about elephants is they are endangered. They are endangered because of habitat loss, ivory poaching and working. They are also endangered because people have wars in their habitats. They are also endangered because they get sold to the circus and get whipped.
I would help endangered elephants by calling the people who want elephants to be safe and tell them they are dying. I would tell them they are dying because of ivory poaching, habitat los and because of war. I would also help elephants by trying to stop people who I see poaching.
That is everything I know about endangered elephants. If you would like to help elephants, go to our website. I wrote this to encourage people to help elephants. I don’t think elephants should be treated like this because elephants did not do anything to people. I don’t think this is fair because elephants are loving and caring creatures. I think this madness should stop.
Congratulations, Yellow Group!
You are officially published authors! Each of you has used your reading, writing, and critical thinking skills to write a five-paragraph essay on an important social issue. By writing about endangered elephants, you are educating other people about the importance of this issue. We must hope that by educating other individuals, we can join together to fight the many injustices suffered by elephants. Thank you for your hard work and consistent enthusiasm.

Kamari - thank you for writing about the plight of elephants. I had no idea they were endangered! I will help spread the word.
PS I grew up reading Babar, the story books about elephants, so I almost feel they are part of family!
kamari, thanks for your essay, which is really a call to action. I liked learning about the ways that elephants are being destroyed. I always felt sorry for elephants in the circus or elephants in zoos since they were either being whipped or being crowded in small places. I once saw an elephant being whipped in Thailand by his driver. I am sure they feel pain even though they have thick skin. I will encourage people i know to support efforts to save elephants and not to buy jewelry made from ivory. thanks, Eva N.
Good job on your essay Kamari! You do a great job highlighting the many problems that these elephants face. You also do a great job describing how you would help them! You clearly have a great understanding about this issue!
Kamari,
MADNESS! You're right! I can't believe how awful these animals are treated! I believe that your essay is a step in the right direction towards helping save these delicate creatures. A question: do you know of any good organizations I can seek out to help? Let me know! Great work, K-Man!

Kamari, your essay really makes me want to take action! I agree, the first step toward finding a solution is educating others about the plight of elephants. You should feel very accomplished knowing that your essay (and this wonderful website) played a part in educating others about the importance of saving elephants. Great work!
Kamari,
I definitely want to help elephants now. Thank you for providing so much background information. So many of us think we understand elephants by seeing them on TV but we actually don't have any idea what their lives are like. I want to commend you for thinking through some solutions as well. We always need to be looking for solutions.
Keep up the good work.
